Miss Lucy Corr, Our Founder
Miss Lucy Corr, former Director of Chesterfield’s Social Services Department, wanted to start a nursing home that reflected the strong family values embedded in the Chesterfield County community. That meant taking care of people who did not have the means to care for themselves. Within four years she had spearheaded the effort to build a first-class nursing home in Chesterfield in 1970, the first of its kind in the County. |

Lane Ramsey, Campaign Chairman
Former County Administrator, Lane Ramsey leads the effort to raise funds for the Lucy Corr Foundation. “I think that Lucy Corr is different than other nursing homes because it doesn’t have a ratio of private pay to benevolent care that most nursing homes have.” Mr. Ramsey had the pleasure of working with Miss Lucy Corr when the nursing home was established and believes strongly in its mission to care for elders regardless of their ability to pay fully for their services. “I hope you will join me in supporting this worthwhile mission to provide compassionate, quality health care for Chesterfield Seniors who are unable to care for themselves.” |

Benevolent Care at Lucy Corr Village
In keeping with Miss Lucy’s legacy, Lucy Corr Village provides nearly $2,000,000 in benevolent care to more than 50% of its Health Care Center Residents annually. These are individuals who have worked and contributed to our communities, successfully raised families, and have served our county. The Benevolent Care Fund assists these individuals allowing them to stay and receive the compassionate quality care Lucy Corr Village in known for despite having outlived their assets. We do need your support in order to continue to provide this important charitable service for generations of seniors to come. |
